Having no electricity to turn lights on is also 100% political suicide by any party !!!!

Delaying by government at every level of common sense actions leads to that pathway- we are halfway down that path and now only with releases from inquiries are we starting to see real cost of renewables and delay in implementation . Will they listen to their own advisors who have flip flopped as marketplace cost and implementation reality for renewables has come home to roost?

The architect of the first national clean hydrogen strategy, former chief scientist Alan Finkel, says his support for the fuel has “evolved” and concedes it is difficult to see it replacing gas for heating homes.

Dr Finkel, who was commissioned by the Coalition to deliver a road map for developing a local hydrogen industry, said it was “increasingly clear that green hydrogen is too expensive” and Australia was “unlikely to use hydrogen for storage of electricity”."

Even making coal and gas more expensive and transferring those tax / levy funds to supposedly green options and adding extra incentives hasn't convinced a market with poor electricity transmission infrastructure can cope without gas and a Hydrogen option was never a small industry or household option.

So what is STO worth today if its carbon sequestration is allowed by Aussie govt as a pathway until they can sort some sort of economic "renewable" infrastructure and generation at a economically viable cost

Will Labor or Liberal govt lic STO or coal for 20 years of emissions and carbon sequestration on a declining basis so gas and coal and invest with security for domestic market and use scale of offshore LNG export all while adding millions to GDP?
