$1250 over 5 years is still less than what they would pay for petrol over one year. Even if they are only driving 10,000km a year in a 7.5l/100km car and paying $2/l for petrol. A good tradeoff yes?”

That’s clearly not all that is involved in the trade-off

So you’re either not too smart or you’re wilfully being a disingenuous flog.

But I'm still waiting for you to tell me how much more tyre usage your "largest tyre supplier in Australia" said there was?”

Inventory turn for EVs in their customer database is higher by a factor of three-quarters to double.

But that might be conservative because the average tyre life (objectively, it makes far more sense to deal in the average, as opposed to “hypothetical” outliers) is around 40,000 km.

Which, based on the average of 12,000km (or a number within that cooee of that, to avoid the spitting of hairs), means around a 4-year replacement cycle.

A middle-to-upper range tyre costs around $200, so $800 per four years, or $3.85/week.

You said tyre costs on EV’s would be “$5/week higher”, so that means 130% more expensive.
