"A recent poll in the US found a significant and growing number of Americans believe violence is justified if it achieves their political ends. In April, a NPR/PBS Newshour/Marist survey found that one in five Americans agree with the statement "America have may to resort to violence to get the country back on track.""

    is this for real?

for sure its so damned tribal this opposition of each side for the other. and Trump exemplifies how such tribalism can turn a nation.

when I first heard a rumour that civil war was brewing in the US I rejected the idea. yet I'm now reading reports from BBC and Euro services as well as US reports of increasing polarisation and increasing chatter of revolution.

now I find it awful to actually write that word, revolution, in reference to violence.

all my life I've heard the cliche "It could only happen in America".
