Government taxes on property, Federal, State and Local coupled with the never ending cost increases in materials, are huge costs . Add in a WHS mind field to help gum up the works. Add massive delays in getting approvals for buildings, let alone whole subdivisions. Add excessive building, electrical, gas, plumbing ect ect ect regulations. It's not the high wages as such. Its how jobs are by regulation, taxes, and materials ( massive holdups just getting materials, let alone the rising costs), problems for workers to access sites( parking ect) is leading to jobs taking far too long to get completed. As much as I dislike the Unions, it's not all their fault. Add the biggest problem, a building workforce without the skills, or the manpower. Jet
