cities are dangerous places - they always have been, unless human character changes - they always will be

there are some safer societies, no question there - it's likely that women or men can safely walk alone in places like Japan and South Korea

very different cultures though

wanna try walking alone in a city after dark in Australia?

personally, I never feel safe in any city. I wouldn't have a bar of being in places like Paris, London, Sydney or Melbourne etc - unless I have to, noisy, smelly, risky.
