I consider it a tool - and yes, it will be used and misused as any other tool

but, unlike a hammer which can be a tool or a weapon -

it can't have an opinion

AI - yep, tool or weapon ------------ but, it will have an opinion

the hammer doesn't speak much - AI - we won't be able to shut it up

and it might tell us good ideas

the hammer is dumb - it will only build a house if we conceive a house

AI can conceive - it does, and it will

that is vastly different to all tools that have gone before
