Thats a really interesting point, that not a lot of people have cottoned onto in the copper market yet. With Indonesian export of concentrates being banned from about now, and the Indonesians increasing copper smelter capacity within the country largely by the construction of new smelters by the Chinese, they are going to need copper concentrate feed into Indonesia, so that explains why the Salim Group and a few other Indonesian companies have been so active in Australia lately.
I found this link:
Risks and rewards for Indonesia's growing metals refining sector Article | dss+ Operations Consulting (consultdss.com)
And before people panic and think this is going to be a repeat of the Nickel Industry fiasco last year, the Indonesians don't have a bajillion tonnes of low-grade copper oxide laterites like they did have for Nickel laterites, these smelters will need copper sulfide concentrates.
