I'd be curious to know whether the particular grade (90 to 95% FC) concentrate has been strategically chosen or not.
Apparently, it's possible to further purify graphite feedstock during the expanding process via four different methods which would give PGT greater control to meet customer specs and pay less for feedstock.
It would also become mroe beneficial if and when the supply becomes tight.
I shouldn't imagine, we'd be selling into the highly specialised product market just yet. But there is a possiblity that higher grade flake was purchased in the initial batch to meet those sort of premium specs. Maybe that's what the samples sent to Japan and the US were manufactured from... higher FC grades.
Grafitbergbau is likely our bread and butter... and that's who this 1,000 tonne is destined for. Any thoughts, Cranium?
