    There is nothing ‘essential’ about us over-reaching on emission reductions. Too many big swinging dicks trying to make a name for themselves ‘saving the world’ when in fact all they are doing is hurting households, businesses and government finances.

    PS. I’m not happy with the nuclear route either. As much as I love it, this country can’t build anything on time and on budget to save itself…..and there is hardly anything more complex and controversial as a nuclear plant. I think we’re just setting ourselves up for a big fall with nuclear.

    Dutton should have just walked back our ridiculously high emissions reductions targets and commitments, and invested in modern energy generation technology we fully understand, have high quality resources in the ground and an existing trained workforce….

    And that would be coal.
