@zipperlip; IMO the Land of Show-n-Go is at a tipping point largely due to the proxy wars its resourcing.

From its manipulation of global trade and financial markets to a $Debt of $37 Billion [120%of GDP and still rocketing upwards] to its failure to properly invest in the maintenance and upgrade of core public infrastructure and to its complicity in the displacement and the slaughter of Palestinian civilians; the US has shredded its reputation as the western world's model social democracy.

IMO former US POTUS Donald Trump will greatly exacerbate such issues by adding in shambolic chaos and vitriolic hatred and fear. But as yet I've no insights into what VPOTUS Karmala Harris proposes to do which will be any different from what POTUS Joe Biden has been doing since January 2021.

Atm Harris is a happy, smiling face which makes a pleasant change from Biden's blood-drained and voice strained one and from Trump's relentless and angry demand for his back-slappers to "Fight! Fight! Fight!". How that translates into values, vision, policy and implementation remains to be seen.
