The "average Victorian Voter" who plays golf got the opportunity to see the greatest golfer of all time tee it up in their backyard. And as mentioned earlier in this thread, the amount of kids who will be inspired to take up golf and join clubs and put money into their sport over the next 50 years is WELL worth it in my mind. And as the 3 million spent (only $1.5m was from the taxpayers) to get Tiger here last year generated approximately 34 million for the Victorian economy and I'd say it was a VERY good deal for our State. Would you be happy to get that sort of return on your next investment? I know I would.
I am not worried about his antics off the course, in my mind he is the greatest golfer ever and although he has been very foolish off the course it is not my business.
Adventura, I'm pretty sure he has owned up to everything he has been accused of so not sure what you are on about.
Bundyau, nice to have the moral Police on board. If your Grandkids are looking towards Sports Stars to be "Role Models" then perhaps you are doing a poor job of directing them where they should look. Maybe YOU could be their Role Model with your spotless fidelity record.
As for me being "Mr.Golf". I only comment on things I have a reasonable knowledge on and I have been heavily involved in Golf for 30 years. So I think I have more knowledge than most on this subject. Pro golfers from all over the World get TAXED by our Government for the money they earn on OUR shores. Greg Norman has a residence in the USA because THAT IS WHERE HIS BUSINESS EMPIRE IS.
Anyway, say what you like about Tiger Woods, my OPINION is he is WELL worth any money we throw at him.
Out of curiosity, do either of you even play golf? Are you Members of a Club?
