Kain is spot on in his post above that Start ups take time. To expand on his theme:

Think about how difficult it is NOW to convince people to spend money on a new scan that they do not understand. Doctors and radiologists etc. may love the technology but getting people to spend THEIR MONEY in the current economic environment where many are struggling to pay expenses, is difficult.

The situation with government departments is not the same-- they have cash to spend......but need to have extensive investigations into all new technology before they will RISK spending money on it for fear that later they will be accused of wasting TAXPAYER'S MONEY by some of the media, politicians etc. trying to score points!

In the US that is even more pertinent now with the upcoming Presidential election- image if a politician decides to try to score points about how VA or DOD are "wasting American's hard earned taxes on a foreign company's new technology"-- so they likely are even more careful about spending on any new technology.

All Hospitals struggle with internal politics where different Departments all want a bigger share of the available spend- so spending gets delayed while that plays out. Ultimately they will spend but not straight away
