I've seen it used for many years treating Hep C people. they were always carefully monitored for exactly that reason.
when you read these things Wal do you consider the probability of these adverse events? 1 could be an artefact, 2 could be coincidence, 3 maybe we might watch this, 4 yeh we better watch, 5 uuumm close watch now.... and so forth... these numbers per 100,000. its doesn't mean anyone who uses the medication will die quickly and painfully of organ failure.
