Hi Reddeer. You are familiar with Wellywood then. You are right the harbour is great on a good day. Spent many a day on a boat fishing between coldies. The COVID pandemic coupled with the the council addressing deferred maintanance on infrastructure in paticular water and sewage piping has decimated theCBD for now. Aged infrastructure is a blight on first eorld cities globally at the mo. Another reason to go off grid albeit only addressing power supply issues but aging national grid will start to hurt soon enough. My partner works for an entity that has the responsibility of tidying up transpowers woeful maintanance history so i get an inside seat. I read just this morning that a kiwi company that has focused on installing residential EV connections cant put more than 10 connections into a street were all draw on national grid as the increase in draw compromises the supply to the area. I personally would only consider an EV if i also installed panels and a battery otherwise it defeats the whole purpose but mindsets havent got round that yet. Big week next week.
