The swift selling after the news suggests that traders and not new long term holders were merely monitoring the event, capitalizing on the short-term hype. These opportunistic traders have no loyalty to the stock or its long-term potential. They are mere mercenaries, seeking quick profits.
The absence of longer-term buyers might be a blessing in disguise. It means that the stock is not yet overvalued, and the hype has not become a self-sustaining bubble. When the dust settles, and the traders have taken their profits, the stock may be poised for a more sustainable rally.
