I can not answer any of the questions people are asking any more accurately than I have. Apparently the government is releasing a study/business plan next month that will or should answer your questions.
I see many of you are making unfounded assumptions about the cost/benefit of the NBN but I am not prepared to do so...I will wait for the full business plan to be released.
And to the poster who said he knows someone in Cairns who has broadband so what are we all concerned about well duh Cairns is a City. I have satellite broadband...no cable or ADSL here...and it is very slow compared to other forms.
