Not sure of the exact motivation. Great grandfather I know worked as an ‘accountant’ / timber salesman in Brisbane before moving (presumably with his work) to the Sunshine Coast hinterland. His son grew citrus there for some forty years before moving the family back to Brisbane.
Some day, I’ll see if I can track down the Irish side. Everyone on that side seemed to become teachers.
