I think things are a lot different in the UK than here in Oz.

If you sell more than 32KG of batteries per year you must offer a free "takeback" service for any used batteries, failure to do so could result in fines.

Over the coming years, there could be a huge source of black mass (BM) in the UK. Think of all those batteries in every convenience store or "Bunnings" type store (it's B&Q from memory) throughout the UK. That's in addition to the EV market.

It looks as though RIL is developing a trading solution platform for their own BM as well as third parties, as stated in the quarterly below. I'm interested to see what comes from this & exactly how it will be implemented. There's not a lot of information detailed below.

My assumption? This is an iteration/spinoff/brainchild from MOLC & the Greenhouse gentlemen, as they're in commodity trading & debt markets, so they should have contacts, expertise & an understanding of how markets operate.

In general, markets will always seek out more efficient processes to cut costs, increase profit margins & allow resources & materials to be sent to where they're needed most. This could increase the demand for BM by building an efficient mechanism for buyers & sellers to come together in a broad European marketplace. What's in it for RIL? They have a marketplace to sell their own BM & it could be in the best interest of any competition in the BM market to also use the trading platform, as that's where all the buyers are. Hopefully, RIL will receive a nice commission in the process for helping buyers & sellers come together.

A possible offtake or pre-payment for BM produced from a 10tpd plant in the UK is due at any time.
