That's not possible, is it, science can't prove up the Bible, but it can keep it honest.

All science can do is inform us as to what is real and what is superstition and dogma when it comes to religious teachings.

Beyond that it becomes supposition and faith.

There is enough circumstantial evidence for me to consider that a teaching and a scripture that can influence so many, such as Christ and Christianity, especially back in its golden age when people gave their lives for their love of Jesus, suggests to me that people are moved beyond mere words. It seems that there is something that stirs people at a spiritual level.

As such I think we can consider that the basis of Christianity is divinely inspired, certainly Christ and His direct Teachings are divine in origin. Beyond that I'm sure there was a concerted effort to record faithfully the words of Christ, but these words have travelled through great ages and many translations and the prejudices of the original translators and that's why I say the Bible was not written by God, but I belief it was influenced by God.
