The 'Additional Competition for labour' is definitely a stretch.
You rarely hear additional local jobs being voiced as a negative, and realistically who would expect that to be taken seriously as a reason to not approve the plant, so they are throwing the kitchen sink at it, and as per the great post from Nigel above, several objections can probably be dismissed pretty quickly.
