I would not be saying anything controversial when I say I like him but have despaired that he will ever have a chance to prove himself in a fast car.

That might change, the dogs are barking that he will replace Perez for the rest of the season. We will find out if he is a journeyman driver or a potential podium finisher. The competition for the podium has never been so intense in my memory. But for Russel's disqualification it would have been four different winners in four races.

As an aside: Russel's weight advantage is said to have given him 0.3 sec/lap or 13 secs in the race, so fully justified.
