Tough game aviation I guess.
New 737s cost about US100m or AUD150m
New ATR 72-600s about US26m or AUD40m
Cheaper if second hand I guess and leasing another option airlines do.
Rex marketcap of AUD64m less than half that of a new 737 aircraft?
The Saab fleet average age is like 25+ years so needed replacing in the coming years? And less seats per aircraft versus the proposed ATRs but depends on the seats needed per route which maybe the Saabs match on lots of routes.
Out of interest how did Rex get most of their Saab aircraft originally? A cheap deal off other airlines overseas maybe?
