have you heard of neocolonialism?

colonisation of countries is still happening bruh. it's largely changed its form, but its still there. all you gotta do is do a little more reading outside your regular mass-media-propaganda binge sessions.
the evidence is all there.

usa (and other countries) still subjugate weaker countries for various reaons. they do it via soft power. mostly. although there are plenty of cases where the us government resorted to violence in order to force countries to submit countries to its will. in order to exploit countries in every way imaginable. exploitation of natural resources, penny-on-the-dollar asset grabs etc.

us's neocolonialism went largely unopposed. until now.
