The more people, the more nutjobs, Scoto. The numbers game in play. And the more complex and stressful the world becomes the more that people on the edge of sanity snap. And the more that people on the edge snap, the more laws are made to curb the problem - with no success and greater complexities.
In any case, humans just haven't had nearly enough time in terms of the evolutionary process to cope with the madness of modern world. Can't see it ending well for the human race.
Something to be said for spending a pleasant afternoon on the tundra hunting mammoth with the lads and making ribald jokes about Grog over the evening campfire when that wooly rino jabbed him up the freckle. Oh, how we laughed.
About the only really beneficial thing we have accomplished as humans since the good old days is better medicine men.
