PS announcements, the timing over which you have no control (eg notification of approval from the FDA), technically should be announced whenever the company receives the information. This could be during trading hours (although for very significant announcements of this nature, a Pause in Trading or a Trading Halt are sometimes called, so that more of the market can be properly informed).

The Quarterly is not one of these PS announcements, so there's no reason for the company to release it during trading hours. Whether its been done in the past or not, doesn't make it reasonable behaviour. We also saw in today's report that there was nothing the company was "waiting on" in order to make the announcement, so how can failing to release it prior to trading be justified?

Anyway, it looks like the forces of "disappointed there was limited new information / quantifiable trial progress" vs "this company could be taken over at any time" ended up evenly balanced ....
