Im struggling to remember a time when there was a such a high tolerance for low yields among the top ASX stocks. CBA for example gives you 3.35%. Once upon a time the expectation was you would want at least 5%. Even during the low interest rate era and the hunt for yield. Never did the yields get so low. Now we have bank deposit rates offering higher than the bank stock yields, yet investors are still piling into the stock.
I actually think we are in one of those irrational bubbles where retrospectively people look back and think 'how and why'.
