Fully disagree. Once the shares are lent out by BSF and short sold by hedge funds to retail buyers, they are no longer the beneficial owner of those shares. The retail buyers are. There can only be one beneficial owner of any share at any given point in time, including voting rights, dividend entitlements, etc.
