wisco to develop iron ore project - mbalam, page-37

It's been interesting to read some of the responses to the article so far. I think sidswingerhead is right though to be skeptical (as should we all be). Which is not to say that I think that the article is wrong. It comes as no surprise to me that WISCO would be interested in the project, or Hebei, or others, and our company has conveyed as such in the last Quarterly Report:

Significant increase in interest from potential Strategic Partners and infrastructure providers during the Quarter, with resource and technical visits being undertaken with several of the world's leading steel mills.

The Company is pleased with progress achieved in recent months and is confident of successfully concluding arrangements for the introduction of strategic partner(s) to the Project within the next few months, providing the foundation for project financing and construction to proceed next year.

I guess now that a name has been put to a number, people's perceptions have been changed ("The illusion has become real, and the more real it becomes, the more desperately they want it."). That said I did/do tend to think of the article as planted. The timing is curious, it has all the buzz words, and as far as I'm aware it has not yet been reported by what I would call a reputable news outlet.

For me the following lines from the movie Minority Report sums it up nicely:
Danny Witwer: I worked homicide before federal. This is what we call an orgy of evidence. You know how many orgies I had as a homicide cop?
    Officer Fletcher: How many?
Danny Witwer: None... This was all arranged.

In any event, as always, investors buy and sell on fundamentals, traders on rumours and hype.
