Hi Eztrang,
Samsung's new solid-state battery does indeed come with high production costs and is intended for a smaller segment of the EV market. However, Samsung is also working on more affordable options, such as lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and cobalt-free batteries. They’re even developing a dry electrode production method to reduce costs further.
It's important to note that many of these new technologies require more lithium and will take time to flow through the supply chain into the market. Nonetheless, advancements in technology like these will only accelerate the transition to electric vehicles, which is exactly what we want.
