The challenging question for the West generally and the
    USA specifically is:

"Has China got the mix of Socialism & Capitalism right? "
Purely from an economic point of view( annual GDP growth over the past 30 years)
it would seem so . Its mix of State Capitalism & Private Enterprise seems
to be the Cat's Whiskers. But of course this is not communism but rather
"Socialism with Chinese Characteristics" or perhaps more accurately
50/50 ..State Capitalism /Private Enterprise under a 1political party rule.

On a micro level of course there are some examples of Communism
with authoritarian characteristics...I refer specifically to the Jewish Kibbutz
and the Amish Commune which are predominantly Ethnoreligious/Authoritarian/RW

I guess the closest we have of communism in the workplace is the Co-Op
where the workers share the profits equally and manage by committee.

The wealthy in the west and particularly in the USA are understandably
worried with the sudden economic rise of China and the probable impact
    on western billionaires.

    While the current wealth gap in the West is in line with Western Capitalist Ideology;
the growing wealth gap in China is contrary to China's ideology and, IMO, it will
be interesting to see how both systems address that going forward.

IMO the rise of Working Class militancy (Populism) reflects the frustration
being experienced by the "Have Nots" who, at this stage are not willing
to blame the system but instead hang the donkeys tail on "The Elite"
    whom they presume is corrupt!
