Fortescue, with the support of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), government agencies, research institutes, and industry partners, has successfully conducted the world's first use of ammonia, in combination with diesel in the combustion process, as a marine fuel onboard the Singapore-flagged ammonia-powered vessel, the Fortescue Green Pioneer, in the Port of Singapore.

Fortescue, a green technology, energy and metals company, and COSCO SHIPPING, the world's leading shipping company, have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to work together on decarbonising shipping.

In just three short months, another potential partnership could be forming for decarbonising shipping in China.
These kind of partnerships are looking very familiar to what Fortescue have been working on with the OEM's (Liebherr) in the heavy industry.
How so?
* Proof of concept first. Tick.
* Prototype - The Green Pioneer. Tick.
* Partnership with Singapore et al... Tick.
* Potential Partnership with China as a result of validation from what has been achieved with The Green Pioneer.
Very similar strategy.
Let's see what transpires from here.
