yes political opportunism. nothing to do with LibNat policy or the national interest, or the interests of first Aussies . merely playing politics.
Albanese did what he promised Aboriginal Australians he would do. they asked for constitutional inclusion of the Voice to prevent future govts from abolishing the Voice, silencing them. he even asked respectfully for support, which he had a right to expect given it was coalition policy.
imo it wasn't a 'gift'. the need for logical inclusion of Aboriginal people in the decision-making process was necessary.
the fault was the determination of the Dud to destroy the referendum with lies and dis/misinformation.
