Dutton said he would take the Voice to a referendum himself in order to have it abolished if the Voice won the referendum.
the LibNats said Yes to the Voice for popularity, and then said No to the Voice for political points against the Labor party.
the constitutional placement was all the excuse they needed. a MP who had Aboriginal needs and the better management of laws pertaining directly to Aboriginal people on the top of their mind would not have taken the 'opportunity' but would have supported the Voice in line with the productivity comm report. the reasoning there was solid and sound.
but of course party politicians don't have best management in mind; they have only party point scoring as their priority.
