Will Ben Roberts Smith (ex SAS soldier) ever be tried for murder in Afghanistan when he allegedly (by his fellow soldiers) walked into a mosque during prayer time, drag the Imam outside and shot him in the back of the head? Does he have the same rationale as BHY about Muslims? Only a public trial for murder will reveal.
As a society, Muslims may have a different but they have laws, families, family bonds. Bigoted prejudice causes so many problems. They do not have the level of alcoholism and family violence that we have in Australia. Remember: * in Vietnam when a Vietnamese citizen was called a"gook" by Australian soldiers? * Lieutenant Calley in Vietnam when as a helicopter pilot, gave orders to his gunner to shoot the next US soldier who attacked a Vietnamese villager at "My Lai" village? The US soldiers were hacking into the women and children with machetes? * The New York Times reported the event which was initially denied by the US military. * Colin Powell was appointed to investigate the event and he said that the attack actually did occur but there were no other other incidents of attacks on villagers. * Many other US soldiers then came forward to the New York Times and said that this was not an isolated incident. * The investigation by the New York Times was shut down and these new whistleblowers were called traitors. * Years later, now General Colin Powell appeared in front of the United Nations to claim proof that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. * No weapons of mass destruction were ever found. * Colin Powell later admitted that fact that there was never the slightest evidence of proof.
What I am getting at here is that bigot, hate, and rampant lies cause a lot of damage.
