I can tell you after many 'cycles in the market', you need to psychologically be prepared for 30%-40% falls, especially in this area of the market. This is the market dynamics. You just need to accept it, or put your money in cash. If you do want shares with less volatility, go into an ETF tracking the ASX. Don't check it daily, weekly or even monthly. It will achieve 8-9% annually.
