Het Sc, when does one stop buying?, I think the strategy of averaging down does come to a fork in the road where it works out or not work out, ….like a Company I was invested in, WFL, where that strategy failed, (I was out of it well before hand).

Little like doubling your bets on red or black on a roulette table and hoping to recover your money.

The emotions of ‘FOMO’ or concerns for lost of capital are powerful emotions, Chillydog, imo, has covered himself very nicely; preservation of capital with potential upside on the remainder of his holdings.

The emotion felt when I sold 1000 shares @$27 to buy my Wife a new car and thinking about the ‘loss’ if the shares continued to rise!, lol.

Have been selling for a while so I can cash in and add to my industry super fund, it has made a difference but no where near what it would have been at $27/$23, never more true than a bird in hand is worth …..

At 64 happy to start drawing down, another truism; if I have 100 grand and somebody else has 1 million it can not not make then 10 times happier.

    Gltah, not advice and imo.
