Data they rely on is old, inflation no longer an issue. Speak to people in industry and you'll see what's going on, many large compaines over hired during covid and post covid, also over staffing in anticipation of AI work. Now letting people go and doing it quietly. Jobs data is fudged with crappy low paid part time work etc.
