@NotFinAdvice Regarding ammonia, you may be on to something there. On first pass I thought it would face the same supply chain problem as "pure" hydrogen, in that the country is already plumbed for fossil fuels, and has a growing EV charging capacity... so it would be a third fuel source. But if it could be done cost-effectively by converting some tanks and pumps at existing filling stations from say, diesel, then it might actually be practical. Whether it gives the desired benefit of reducing net CO2 emissions though, I'm not quite sure?
