It is interesting that you bring up homelessness.
Now in my leafy beachside suburb I see little homelessness, as I am sure in your idyllic looking area , you don't as well.
But lets be fair , France has a higher per capita rate of homelessness than Australia.
I would still call France , at least, '' pretty good''.
Australia needs better income redistribution , better social housing , improved response to domestic violence and etc etc , but we are no orphans there.
However , on overall measures we are right up there in the '' pretty good '' stakes.
