DJ MARKET TALK: Telstra Upgraded To Overweight By JPM
0015 GMT [Dow Jones] STOCK CALL: Telstra (TLS.AU) upgraded to Overweight from Neutral by JPMorgan. Price target A$3.08.
Broker sees value for the first time in 6 years, with potential share price upside of 15% and 10%-11% dividend yield, giving potential 25% return over 12 months. Says market is entirely discounting US$11 billion NBN compensation and implied assumptions are excessively conservative. On earnings, broker says expectations are conservatively positioned for the first time in many years.
Also says the 28 cent dividend can be maintained for the next 2 years as planned. TLS up 5 cents at A$2.70.
