This is why you don't dismiss "old" & "lagging" short data. The daily shorts are NOT ACCURATE. Always go with the accumulated shorts to work out what is really happening.
This highlights why I don't trust daily reports and you should only focus on the accumulated shorts.
Another 2.4M shorts added when the daily for that day only showed 636K.
