I've lived in Cairns for over 30 years and I am told by operators that the Reef has never looked this good. It's 8000 years old and developed after the last ice age. It seems that warmers waters are conducive to better growth and histroric evidence tells us that colder climates will destroy it.
Something for the climate nutters to ponder.
