Who's disputing any trajectory of history ? Ifs and maybes....it didn't happen...accept it. You don't know how things might have evolved if Stalin's so called proposed "Alliance" was agreed to on his terms, conditions and priorities. Maybe it might have ended up in a even more destructive and bloodier outcome ? Have you considered and had a good look at what Stalin was seeking and have you considered the full circumstances, individuals involved, history, background, attitudes, priorities, experiences and interests of the UK, France and the Soviet Union in mid August 1939 in the midst of those ever louder beating Drums of War ?
