I agree with you that NG has been working his butt off, and so he should as he has a significant self interest. I like it that management has a big stake in the company.
Even the hardest working person needs to have sound advice (and be willing to listen to it).
My comment ("I hope NG gets some more help in steering the company - are the other directors contributing or simply looking after other companies they run?") is that I have concern about whether there is still significant input by two other directors.
This concern relates to the fact that Peter Hepburn-Brown is now employed full time as Executive Director of Operations at Medusa Mining (and I think is now actually located in the Philippines) while Jeffrey Williams is full time MD of Mineral Deposits Ltd (MDL). I think both of these are very capable people, and Peter H-B brings knowledge that is specific to the needs of MCO. However, due to a lot happening at both MDL and MML I doubt that either of them is giving a lot of attention to MCO these days. Am I wrong in this assumption?
I had not been thinking about Peter Jackson, who is extremely knowledgeable on the geology of the Victorian goldfields, including MCO's tenements. However, he may not have a lot of skill/background in actually running a mining company.
I am not sure what sort of managerial skills the senior personnel at MCO bring.
Therefore, I was thinking some extra help might be warranted.
