From today's webinar and Steven's remarks, it appears that a statistical anomaly has occurred within the placebo group, which has performed significantly better than the expected average. Should the placebo group's performance aligned closely with the anticipated placebo average, as suggested in the example provided, the outcome could differ considerably from initial expectations. As mentioned, there are still over 100 data tables yet to be analyzed, which may offer further insights into the factors contributing to the placebo group's unexpectedly strong performance and help clarify what might work better in any future trials of depression.
