F-16 fighter jets supplied to Kyiv may have taken off on their first combat mission, it has been reported, although social media users said a Facebook post by Ukraine's air force boasting of their use had been taken down.
The Ukrainian Telegram channel Tsaplienko Ukraine Fights posted a screen grab of a Ukrainian air force Facebook post on Tuesday that showed AIM-120 AMRAAM (Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles) and AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles next to the message "Happy hunting."
The missiles "are visible on the aircraft's suspension," the post said. "F-16 with missiles. Hinting at something?" posted the Telegram channel Dumskaya, News, War in Ukraine.
However, the Ukrainian channel Stugna was among Telegram outlets that noted how the air force had "deleted the post from the official FB page," according to a translation.
