But their conduct does NOT authorise / justify 'civilised countries' to commit atrocities / war crimes.

Nor should we forget what the USA did to the German People after WW2 was clearly done and dusted, what the USA did to the people of Nagasaki and Hiroshima or what the USA did to the Vietnamese People. Now they're complicit in what Netanyahu's genocidal regime is doing to Palestinian civilians - which is what is provoking Hezbollah and Iran's religious nutters to go ballistic.
