Sachs is a Russian stooge. His opinion is bought and paid for and thus irrelevant to any real objective and factual discussion on topics outside of his expertise. I expect better even from you to resort to quoting him on the Kremlin fictional coup narrative.

It's also quite dishonest to imply the protestors were the violent party when the violence was almost exclusively and excessively dished out by Yanukovych.

Yanukovych abandoned the presidency and created a constitutional issue in doing so as there was nothing in the constitution to handle a president who abandons the presidency and flees the country.

Yanukovych jumped ship first. Vote to remove second.

There was no overthrow because he had already abandoned the presidency. It's an unescapable fact you simply cannot get past Lucky no matter the muddying of the timeline you try.

For someone who constantly talks about "realities on the ground" it's odd that in every case you need to resort to pro Kremlin fictional lies and propaganda technicalities to fail to justify them.

    The Kremlin “coup” Lie Exposed

    • Yanukovych, after meddling and bribes from Putin, broke the EU association agreement promise
    • Yanukovych’s betrayal led to small scale student protests that were met with unparalleled violence meted out to protestors by Yanukovych,
    • This abuse of power by Yanukovych caused even greater anti Yanukovych protests
    • More violence meted out by Yanukovych only galvanised the population further against Yanukovych
    • The Titushky thugs used by Yanukovych against Maidan protesters, hardening anti Yanukovych sentiment even further
    • Ridiculous anti protest laws introduced by Yanukovych simply derailed his legitimacy further
    • Yanukovych aligned forces began shooting dozens of protestors, decimating any legitimacy
    • The “violence” of the protests was almost exclusively and excessively by Yanukovych forces against protestors, not as misleadingly implied by pro Kremlin propagandists
    • Yanukovych had begun planning an escape from Ukraine arranging passage across the country with associates to make the trip “look like” official government business
    • Yanukovych required two attempts to exit Ukraine, his first being blocked by border guards
    • Yanukovych abandoning his presidency and fleeing to Russia, with Putin’s help, was a pre planned and premeditated decision
    • “Armed groups” did not overtake Kyiv causing Yanukovych to flee, Yanukovych and his allies had already fled
    • Knowing Yanukovych had already abandoned Ukraine, this abandonment caused security services to disappear/withdraw which then allowed protestors to occupy government buildings
    • Ukraine’s vote to remove a vacant presidency was Ukraine’s parliament voting
    • Any constitutional issue was the result of Yanukovych abandoning the presidency
    • 36 members from Yanukovych’s own party to vote in favour of his removal either
    • The constitutionality of the removal vote is mute as Yanukovych had already abandoned his position the day prior to the vote and there is no constitutional clause stating how to deal with a sitting president who has abandoned their presidency and fled the country
    • Elections held a few short months after Yanukovych abandoned his presidency, as was agreed by Yanukovych in a deal with opposition parties the day before he fled, were free and fair
