not that simple.
if you look at long term chart there have been some times where the share price is higher before the next dividend than it was when it went ex dividend 6 months earlier.
trying to pick how far it will dip after going ex dividend requires a superb crystal ball.
very easy to miss out before the share price starts rising again.
and selling with a view to buying back after a 3 or 4% dip is not how people get rich.
there are also capital gains tax considerations with repeated buying and selling. buying and selling.
