Free speech and personal responsibility are values that I think most people share.

free speech is a human right but it takes personal responsibility to allow people to have free speech.

this is particularly important in our Houses of Parliament where free speech is so lauded, held to such a high place in parliamentary conduct that even the Federal or State laws cannot impinge, holding a speaker to account, for speaking too freely.

free speech requires a listener to hear clearly what the speaker is saying. this is a key responsibility. if such behaviour prevents another from being heard its an act of denial of free speech.

todays conduct in the House of Representatives was a serious breach of the freedom for Steggall to be heard.

the LiberalNational Party benches, including the Leader Dutton, roared in ridicule of Steggall to prevent her from having the right to free speech.
